Snow Leopard Conservation in Pakistan logo An estimated 200-450 snow leopard species still exist in Pakistan within the Karakorum and Hindu Kush Mountains. As these ranges come together in the Northern Areas. This forms a narrow corridor connecting the snow leopard range of Central Asia with that of the Himalayas and eastern Asia. This corridor is critical for the long-term survival of the species as it ensures adequate genetic flow between these two snow leopard ranges.

The Snow Leopard Trust works in Pakistan's Northwest Frontier
Province by providing a Livestock Vaccination Program. This program
helps local herding communities safeguard the health of their
livestock against fatal diseases. As more livestock survive, peoples'
standard of living increases. They are also able to absorb occasional
livestock losses to predators like snow leopards. As part of the
Livestock Insurance Program, these communities have stopped poaching snow leopards and are now helping us with snow leopard conservation.
